Frequently Asked Questions

How Often Should Aligners be Worn?

You should wear aligners for 20-22 hours per day, only removing them to eat, drink, and brush your teeth. Wear each aligner for approximately 10-14 days as directed by your dentist.

What is the Best Way to Clean Aligners?

Rinse them in cool water. You may use a recommended effervescent cleaner as directed by the manufacturer. To maintain good oral hygiene, brush teeth after each meal before reinserting aligners.

Are There Any Restrictions as to What Can be Eaten During Treatment?

No. Unlike traditional fixed orthodontic treatment, UltraClearAlign allows you to eat whatever you want because you can remove aligners to eat and drink.

Will Aligners Affect Speech?

The majority of clear aligner users do not encounter further difficulties after going through the initial adjustment period. As with traditional orthodontic appliances, these adjustments are usually associated with dealing with foreign objects being placed in the mouth.

How Often do I Need to Visit my Dentist Whilst Undergoing Treatment?

In order to get the best results, it is best to have regular review appointments. If you miss appointments or fail to wear your aligners, your treatment time may be longer and could potentially incur additional costs.

Will my Teeth Stay Straight?

Teeth can still continue to move after treatment is complete. You will be advised on the best type of post-treatment retainer. This is something your dentist can discuss with you.

Will my Smile be Perfect After Treatment is Completed?

After aligner treatment is complete teeth sometimes require additional cosmetic treatment perfect the smile. Treatments such as whitening, cosmetic contouring and composite bonding are common after the teeth have been moved into the correct alignment. This is case-specific and dependent on the individual’s expectations, needs and requirements.
